    Barbara Felicità Lucchini

    Born and raised in Milan, where I still live with my husband and two sons, my earliest memories are filled with the aroma of simmering tomato sauce, freshly baked pizza, and the sound of pasta being kneaded by hand.

    From a very young age, I was cared for by my grandmother, Nonna Felicita, from whom I also inherited my middle name. I loved watching her as she cooked in her country home, where meals were still prepared on a wood-burning stove. From her I learned not only recipes, but also patience, simplicity, and the deep connection between food, family, and tradition. My own middle name, Felicità, is forever tied to her. Due to a small clerical mistake at the registry office, an accent was added, turning it into an unusual name—a little quirk that always reminds me of my grandmother.

    I’ve been cooking for most of my life. I first started at the age of 13, when I stayed home alone after school while my parents were at work. That was when I began experimenting with ingredients, trying out dishes, and discovering the joy of cooking.

    Today, I cook for my grown-up sons when they come to visit, and I hope soon to cook for my grandchildren as well. For me, every recipe is a bridge between generations, carrying with it memories and flavors that deserve to be preserved.

    This passion grew beyond my family’s kitchen and inspired me to explore the vast and diverse world of Italian gastronomy. In a digital age where authenticity is often lost, I created Recipes from Italy to safeguard and share the true flavors of my country.

    From the lemon-scented cliffs of Amalfi to the truffle-rich hills of Piedmont, every recipe is a journey through Italy and a tribute to my heritage. Each dish is more than food—it is a legacy I’m proud to pass on and share with the world.
